Justinian’s Code

It may be thought that Victor Chapot in his book „The History of Roman Law” wrote all that was necessary! Well not quite for he missed out a lot! And here is what he omitted God knows why!

      

By the time of ceasar Justinian’s rule, bridge was already a tiring pastime... Over a few centuries there came into being a thick book of Bridge Law, a Commentary twice as thick followed by a Commentary to the Commentary  as a result of which lawyers earned fortunes even though their numbers increased a hundredfold.
